Kabuni

This is a traditional Albanian recipe and it has been in my family menu since I was born. I love the combination of tastes and you'll know what I mean after you've tasted so go at your kitchen and start making it. It is super easy!

Eshte shume e thjeshte!

Ingredients for Kabuni:
  •  402 gram rice
  • 200 gram sugar
  • 1 1/2 dish spoon butter
  • raisins
  • 1/2 tea spoon salt
  • 1 tea spoon cinnamon
  • water

Perberesit per Kabunine:
  • 402 gram oriz
  • 200 gram sheqer
  • 1 1/2 luge gjelle gjalp
  • rrush te thate
  • 1/2 luge caji kripe
  • 1 luge caji kanelle
  • uje
In a big pan(make sure to be big, or you will have to change that like I did) put butter and let it melt
Add the rice and cook it until it becomes reddish, keep stirring all way to that
Add water, salt and raisins and put on the lid. Let it cook
Shto ujin, kripen dhe rrushin e thate dhe vendosi kapakun tiganit/tenxheres. Lere te gatuhet
Open the lid and keep stirring making sure the rice absorbs the water
Now add sugar and mix together for few seconds
 Bring to simmer
Kaloje ne vlim
Turn off the hit, add cinnamon, stir and put back on the lid. Let it set for at least 3 minutes
Fike zjarrin, shto kanellen, perzieje masen dhe vendose perseri kapakun. Lere te rrije per te pakten 3 minuta
Bon Appetit
